Biography
I grew up in central Illinois and then went to college in Wisconsin. Over time, I found that I really enjoyed working with children and adolescents. As such, I went to graduate school in School Psychology. I graduated with my Ph.D. from Illinois State University after completing a year long internship at the Houston Independent School District. For the past 20 years, I have been working at Eastern Kentucky University training school psychologists and teaching developmental psychology. In addition, I worked part-time in the Madison County School District for a few years before opening MindPsi in 2006.
I opened MindPsi as I saw many families struggling to find psychologists who worked with children and adolescents. At MindPsi, I tend to focus on conducting assessments both at the private practice and with school districts. The results of these assessments can greatly help provide a baseline of where children and adolescents are and provides guidance on the way forward for families, teachers, and other health professionals. I like to think that with a little help, the assessment and following intervention can help children and adolescents grow up and become healthy adults.
